PADANG - FE UNP. Approximately 100 students from various universities in West Sumatera attended the stocklab investment game training held by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) with Investment Gallery of Indonesian Stock Exchange, Faculty of Economics Universitas Negeri Padang (GIBEI FE UNP) held at Auditorium Prof. Kamaluddin FE UNP, Wednesday (15th March 2017).
Equipped with beginning quity equals to 15 points provided by the Bank, the participants played stocklab in each group of five person. All the participants played four phases: bidding, action, selling and economy. The players competed to build assets by investing in stocks from various industry sectors and mutual funds, and by using various actions optimally to be the investor with the most money at the end of the game.
This game allows everyone to know how to develop assets through stocks, or explore more about their own characters, whether they are more appropriate to be an investor or a stock trader. This training was held to prepare for the participation in the National Stocklab Competition to be held in 19 cities, one of which in Padang. The two winners from each city will be invited to Jakarta, will be contested at the Capital Market Anniversary on 10 th August 2017. The member of the Capital Market Supervisory Department 1a of The Financial Service Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan—OJK), Riki Aslim, said that stocklab game training is held to expand and increase the knowledge and role of students in the use of financial products and services in the field of capital market.Therefore, the training that was held at the Faculty of Economics UNP had a goal to increase the knowledge of financial literacy and foster interest in investing in the Indonesian capital market, especially among the academic community.
