The Students Of Faculty Of Economics Became The Finalist Of Ideas Summit FEB UGM

Yogyakarta - FE UNP. Students of the Faculty of Economics, State University of Padang represented by Indriana Rezkia Putri, Muria Wahyuni ​​and Ricky Savega became  IDEAS Summit finalists Batch 3 with the theme of "realizing a creative sociopreneur towards the progress of Indonesia's potential" held by Faculty of Economics and Business Gajah Mada University, Yogyakarta 6th-9th March, 2017.

IDEAS Summit is one of three series of activities of The 11th Management's Events which participated in supporting the program "Nawa Cita" program (the three ideals), of Joko Widodo's government, of building Indonesia from the periphery by strengthen regional areas and villages within the framework of a unitary state. Each delegation will provide ideas in creating a social project (sociopreneur) through Indonesian tourism and culture.

The three-person team of FE UNP are incorporated in the Lapau Minang team that carries project of community empowerment in Ketaping, Padang Pariaman, West Sumatera. In particular, the project involves the processing of dragon fruit and papaya, which are widely produced in the area, to become the high value traditional food. This projects had successfully brought the three Management students of FE UNP representing Padang, West Sumatra to present the project at FEB UGM. There were other 19 delegation teams from various regions in Indonesia as a result of paper selection from 198 teams in Indonesia submitted last December 2016. Delegations would present each project that come from various problems that exist in their respective regions. The other 19 delegation teams were from Bali, Bandung, Banjarmasin, Bengkulu, Bogor, Jakarta, Jambi, Lampung, Makassar, Manado, Mataram, Palembang, Purwokerto, Surabaya, and Yogyakarta.

Series of activities:

The first activity was the Insight session with practitioners, public figures and government representatives and Summit Session which was opened by the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo. The second day was involved (8th March 2017) the presentation of the project at Pertamina Tower FEB UGM. Lapau Minang team was the 11th turn. Using traditional custom minangkabau, the team  managed to attract the judges and received a festive appreciation from other delegations. The next activity was IDEAS Challange (ICE) Trip at the Sultanate Palace of Yogyakarta, Fort de Vredeburg and Malioboro Street which ended with a homestay in Tembi tourist village. The third day was held a Field Trip in Tembi Wisata village. The Last event of IDEAS Summit Batch 3 FEB UGM was closed with the BANQUET event, the Awarding Night of the whole series of activities held. The Best Project was achieved by Team Huruun from Institut Pertanian Bogor.

Although not yet awarded the best award, the delegate from FE UNP still get high appreciation from all participants because it successfully developed the potential of the region, introduce and promote West Sumatra tourism to the delegation throughout Indonesia. (yfz)
