Padang - FE UNP. Upgrading is a training to improve the quality, knowledge, and organizational science for participants. An upgrading was organized by Students Executive Assembly (Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa—BEM)  of the Faculty of Economics for the new members of the Students Executive Board FE UNP 2016/2017. This training is useful to improve the participants’ knowledge of each functions in the management of the faculty’s students organizations. This activity is also useful to build a spirit of stewardship that fit this years’ theme of "Improving The Spirit of Management with Character, Morale, Responsibility and Creative Soul".
The upgrading this year was held in the Auditorium of PT Balai PT Balai Pembibitan dan Agrowisata which was located in the area of Sungai Lareh, Lubuk Minturun, Padang. The upgrading activities took place from Friday to Sunday, 29th April to 1st May 2016.
The activities on the first day was started by the deprture from the Faculty of Economics to the upgrading location. Upon arrival, the organizer made preparation for the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was attended by the Dean Prof. Dr. Yunia Wardi, Drs, M.Sc.; the Associate Dean of Students Affairs Dr. H. Efrizal Syofyan, SE, M.Si., Ak., CA.; the BEM Supervisor, Ms. Chichi Andriani SE. MM. and the BEM Chairman Ahmad Hafizd. Then, followed by a BEM working meeting from at 20:00 pm to 02.00 am.
The second day was started with morning exercise for BEM management which was followd by a presentation on Organizational Management from 09:30 am to 15:30 pm by Adnan Arafani, S.Pd. who was also the BEM President for 2014/2015. These materials include topics on Leadership, Communications, Decision Making, and Motivation. The next presentation was on Administration and Correspondence from 16:00 to 18:00 pm by Victory Galant who is also the current BEM President for 2015-2016 . These materials include topics on Secretariat, Treasurer, Administration, and Correspondence. The second day was concluded by a Sharing Night among the BEM members.
The last day of upgrading was started with a morning exercise which then followed by an outbound from from 07.00 am to 12.00 pm. The outbound was aimed to build the sense of teamwork, leadership, trust, caring, togetherness and brotherhood among BEM members. Various games were played, such as Connect the Songs (Mars FE UNP, Padamu Negeri, and the National Anthem Indonesia Raya), Catch the Tail Snake, Hunt Coins in the Flour, Following Directions by Voice, and those available at the location. The Upgrading was then officially closed by the BEM Supervisor, Ms. Chichi Andriani SE. MM. The closing ceremony was then concluded with a photo session among members of BEM Departments. (yfz-sd)
