Manado - FE UNP. The Association of Economics and Business Faculties (AFEBI) held its fourth annual congress at 27th – 30th July 2016. The University of Sam Ratulangi (UNSRAT) in Manado hosted this event. These event brought together Economics and Business academics with government officials and business practitioners that was expected to give birth to various economics and business breakthroughs beneficial to the state and the nation.
The Faculty of Economics Universitas Negeri Padang, as a member of AFEBI, send a delegation consisted of the Vice Dean of Academic Affairs Dr. Idris , M.Si and Vice Dean of Students Affairs Dr. Efrizal Sofyan, SE., M.Si., Ak., CA, as well as the Head of Departments, namely, Â Tri Kurniawati, S.Pd., M.Pd (Undergraduate Program in Economics Education), Drs. Anis Ali, MS. (Undergraduate Program in Economic Development), Rahmiati , SE., M.Sc. (Undergraduate Program in Management), Fefri Indra Arza, SE., M.Si, Ak. (Undergraduate Program in Accounting), Firman, SE., M.Sc. (Diplome Program in Trade Management) and Halkadri Fitra, SE., MM. (Diplome Program in Accounting ).
At the opening of the AFEBI Congress, the Governor of North Sulawesi Olly Dondolambey was represented by Assistant II Provincial Government of North Sulawesi, Sanny Parengkuan. Mr. Parengkuan mentioned that AFEBI is a collection of education organizations in the field of accounting, economics, and business management in Indonesia. The AFEBI’s contribution is one important elements to achieve a welfare society through the universities’ Tridharma.
The Chairman of DPN AFEBI, Dr. Nury Effendi, said that the organization strategic program currently is the publication of four national scientific journals namely AFEBI Finance and Accounting Review, AFEBI Economic Review , AFEBI Management and Business Review and AFEBI Islamic Finance and Economic Review. It is expected that diverse thinking and empirical studies’ results will be published through these scientific journals. (yfz – sd)
